An Act of Terror in Seattle

A Muslim man in Seattle was angry at Israel, so naturally he walked over to the Jewish Federation building and started gunning down what were presumably American Jews, killing one and wounding five others.

Now, the logical, common sense response to this incident should be for all legally able American Jews, and every American for that matter, to arm themselves in self-defense. A surge in the purchase of handguns and applications for concealed carry permits would give citizens the tools they need to deter, and quite possibly stop if already in progess, a similar incident.

Unfortunately, instead of a call to arms, what we will no doubt hear from spineless politicians and misguided mothers is a call for arms; your arms that is. Despite their familiar cries and best intentions, however, further restrictions on citizens' access to guns will inevitably lead to only one result: Should another angry Muslim decide to start killing people in public, he can rest assured that no one will be able to stop him before the police - the people with guns - show up.

The only way to minimize loss of life during a multiple victim public shooting - or terrorist act such as the one that just occurred here in Seattle - is to use deadly force as soon as possible. You can either have armed citizens who happen to be on the scene do the job, or wait for the police to show up later with more body bags.

G-d forbid it should come to this, but the War on Terror may yet end up being fought in our streets and cities. And there is no reason why this country should not be prepared.
